A Holladay resident has been arrested for hosting poker events in his basement. Salt Lake City police refused to reveal many details about last Friday's arrest. However, a police spokesperson said that poker players wagered huge amounts of money during the poker games.
Gambling items
Previous to the arrest, the Lake Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration asked for permission to search his house. "Police officials found gambling related items like gambling machines in Stanworth's
home," read a statement from the Salt Lake City police.
Buy-in of $500
Prison records show that Stanworth had already served time in prison for a similar crime. In August, he was accused of illegal gambling activities and money laundering. Stanworth hosted poker tournaments in his basement. Usually, approximately 12 gamblers joined the poker games, with a buy-in of $500.
