Betex signs contract with Chinese retail lottery concept
The UK-based Betex Group plc has revealed that its Chinese operation has penned an unique 5-year agreement with Nanjing Welfare Lottery Management Centre to introduce and run a latest retail lottery concept throughout Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province.
The Betex Group by now has built sport lottery deals in Guangdong, Hebei and Guizhou. Under the terms of the contract Betex will sell and promote all Welfare Lottery products from kiosk-style point of sale (POS) outlets in footfall places such as supermarkets. Some of the product are scratch cards, traditional computerized lottery games and popular draws. Starting at the beginning of February, Betex is going to first run twenty Betex and Welfare Lottery co-branded kiosks for six months previous to expanding the retail estate to 150 by the end of this year.
The UK group has also closed distribution deals with several leading Nanjing-based retail brand outlets, which will give Betex the opportunity to position kiosks within chosen high-footfall shops over the license term.

I think we have created a retail strategy that combines two crucial elements, short tem profitability and revenue generation, with long term scope for expansion and roll-out,” according to Jeremy Longley, CEO of Betex.
