An elderly pair from Bakersfield has cashed $51 million in the California Lottery. Bobby Lee Urquhart (78) and his spouse Etta May (75) picked the 5 winning numbers in a Mega Million game. In addition, the pair matched the Mega number of 16. The California Lottery estimates the cash option sum for the winning ticket at $32.3 million.
Mega Millions is available in 42 states and participants need to select 5 numbers from 1 to 56 in combination with a Mega number from 1 to 46. The California Lottery rewards the gas station where they bought the winning ticket with a $255,000 bonus.
