British lottery player cashes £161 million

The Euromillions lottery has rewarded a British ticket holder a £161 million jackpot. The UK National Lottery revealed that the fortunate player matched all five main numbers, alongside two Lucky Stars. In addition, two other Britons banked £1.7 million in the Euromillions lottery.

“It has been a remarkable drawing. We are pleased that a British player managed to take home the £161 million jackpot. Furthermore, two Britons cashed £1.7 million after matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star. We are delighted to welcome the lucky winners into the National Lottery millionaires’ club,” read a statement from the UK National Lottery.

Rewarding Euromillions lottery

In October last year, another British ticket holder scooped £113 million in the Euromillions lottery. The first Euromillions drawing took place on Friday 13 February 2004 in Paris. At first, the pan-European lottery was only played in the United Kingdom, France and Spain. The Austrian, Belgian, Irish, Luxembourg, Portuguese, and Swiss lotteries were added for the 8 October 2004 raffle.
