Bell Canada employees sue their coworkers
Nine Bell Canada employees have filled a lawsuit against 19 of their colleagues. Attorney Marek Tufman has filled the lawsuit on behalf of the nine employees. They claim to be part of the lottery syndicate that won the jackpot
. Their 19 coworkers decided to create their own lottery pool but they failed to inform the other nine members of the syndicate.
The new lottery syndicate bought a ticket which rewarded them the €37 million jackpot. Nevertheless, the group members have only received a part of the jackpot cash prize — approximately €1.17 million per member. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation discovered that the group may consist of eleven additional employees. Ontario courts hold the rest of the jackpot cash until the matter is cleared up.
Nine of those eleven employees
have filled a lawsuit in order to claim their share of the jackpot. In addition, they seek compensation for damages for breach of contract. Saul Glober represents the nineteen workers and he believes that they don’t have to share the jackpot with the nine colleagues.
