Las Vegas resident creates smart home
Las Vegas is renowned for its casinos
. Sin City will soon have a novelty as an inhabitant is building a smart home for seniors. Her plans originated from a tragic accident that led to her husband’s death. Teri Lyn Van der Heiden decided she wanted to enjoy her later years independently.
“During my recovery I wasn’t able to sleep. I always had a lot of plans and I started to write them down. Smart technology seemed the perfect solution and before I realized it I was creating a smart home,” the retired real estate agent said. Van der Heiden needs approximately €150.251 to finish the smart home. That investment results in major benefits, according to Van der Heiden.
At the end of 2010 she used all her savings to build the sensor driven home. The smart home is packed with novelties like an entry system which makes keys redundant. “I learned about induction cooking, which protects users from getting burned,” she commented.

home provides support to people who need it,” she added.
