Internet lottery option in Goa
Nine firms have so far sent in their bids for the tender process regarding an internet lottery in Goa, according to the Goa Herald. Sources have declared that nine firms have responded to the government’s tender process, which is now closed. Officials of the Department of Lotteries refused to reveal details on the tender papers that have been sent in.
Internet lottery system
The government considers the internet lottery system
as a viable opportunity to create additional revenues. The Indian state has experienced high spending in the last couple of years. Sources announced that the government aims on yearly revenues of 220 – 250 million Indian Rupees.
It seems that the present tender process offers more lucrative opportunities for bidders than the tendering documents two years ago. That tendering offered private firms the option to exploit lottery activities. That transaction valued 250 million Indian Rupees. The government also claimed a share from the lottery revenues. These conditions deterred investors and companies weren’t interested.
