Top managers banned from casinos
Second Chance Properties has banned seven top managers from casinos. This ban follows a gambling loss of €20.45 million at the Resorts World Sentosa. It is the first company that prohibits its top managers to gamble at Marina Bay Sands
and Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.
The top managers and finance staff are banned from casinos for as long as they work for Second Chance Properties. Second Chance CEO Mohamed Salleh Marican commented: “After learning of Henry Quek’s gambling loss I decided to take measures. Obviously he didn’t want to lose €20.45 million but even top executives can lose control when playing at a casino
Henry Quek, managing director of Far Ocean Sea Products, lost €20.45 million over three days. Mohamed Salleh stated that top managers who suffer excessive gambling losses could provoke troubles with suppliers and banks. “In case of publicly traded companies, it will cause commotion among stockholders.”
