Second Puerto Rico casino raid
20-03-2011
The
casino at the Rio Mar Beach Resort in Puerto Rico has been robbed. The raid showed similarities to the Gran Melia Golf Resort robbery that took place in August 2010. Both casinos are located in the municipality of Rio Grande.
Robbery
Three robbers entered the casino from the seaside just before closing time. The masked men forced gamblers and staff to the floor. One robber claimed the key to the safe. The armed robbers captured approximately €133.000. While escaping they left a trail of bills worth approximately €2.600 on the beach.

Nobody has been detained, but the attack shows similarities to the robbery at the Gran Melia Golf Resort in the same municipality. Those
robbers seized approximately €166.000. The police reported that the prime suspect in that robbery was murdered nearby his property in Rio Grande last month.
