Orange County duo face fraud and theft charges
A duo from Orange County allegedly stole ATM cards, which they used to gamble at a Temecula-based casino. Eric Hoang (28) from Garden Grove and Hung Nguyen (32) from Stanton, face fraud and theft charges. They bought gift cards at the casino with the stolen ATM cards and transferred the money to customer’s cards, according to a California-based newspaper.
Pechanga Resort and Casino
The amount of money they used to gamble at the Pechanga Resort and Casino remains unclear. The pair managed to win $25,000 in cash during their gambling spree in February, police reports show.
Debit card swindle
In addition, both suspects are charged with counts of debit card fraud. They allegedly defrauded Chase Bank debit cards in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange counties. Those debit card scams, worth $400,000, took place last year. Nguyen was detained by Riverside County police earlier this month. Federal authorities detained
