Wild Viking rules explained

What do you get when you mix the rules of two of the online gambling industry’smost popular games? Wild Viking, that’s what!

Wild Viking is best described as an exciting combination of roulette and poker. And a combination of the rules of these two leading casinos games can only be good, right?

Wild Viking: the game

Wild Viking is a card game played with a 52-card deck, plus two jokers. The game is played against the banker/dealer. Bets are made on a roulette-like table. The Wild Viking table shows all 54 cards, along with some extra betting possibilities. After placing your bets, the banker will deal five cards, face up.

Placing bets in wild Viking

Bets are made by placing chips on the table. There are four types of bet available when playing Wild Viking.

Centre betting area

This is the main area of the table. The centre betting area consists of all 52 cards, which can be bet on, roulette-style. The fifth card in a game of Wild Viking is the equivalent of the straight bet at roulette. Placing a chip on an Ace of hearts at Wild Viking can be seen as placing a bet on a certain number when playing Roulette, 21 red for instance. A single card bet (straight) at Wild Viking will pay 51:1.

Bottom betting area

As with roulette, the bottom area of the table lets you bet on such outcomes as odd, even, black and red. The pay out of these roulette-like bets match the roulette rules (1:1).

Asides from those bets we already know from roulette, there are two more bets available in the bottom betting area. Firstly, there are the two joker card bets which are single card bets. Secondly, there is the Wild Viking bet. To win this bet the first and last cards drawn have to be joker cards. The Wild Viking bet pays an amazing 1250:1.

Top Betting area

The top betting areas on the table revolves around poker hands. Unlike the two roulette-like areas (which only use the last card), all five cards are used when betting in the top area of the table.

The player predicts which hand will be dealt by the dealer. A bet can be placed on the following hands (with the odds for each shown in brackets):

Poker hands betting area The final betting area features all the poker hands not found in the top betting area. This includes the likes of the Royal flush, etc. Payouts for these can vary, and can be found in the in-game pay table.

Progressive jackpot

Wild Viking is linked to a progressive jackpot. The possibility to win a progressive jackpot gives Wild Viking an extra dimension. There’s always the chance to win a huge amount of money. The progressive jackpot bet is a $1 bet. To win the jackpot, you need a Wild Viking/Royal flush hand. This means that you need a hand from which the first and the last cards are jokers. The other three cards between have to be mounting cards. This can be an Ace – King – Queen – Jack or ten, as long as they are mounting.

We wish you every success when playing Wild Viking online. After reading the Wild Viking game rules, you should be ready to tackle the game.
