Rugby player sues betting company for breach of privacy
A rugby player from New Zealand gambled away $75,000 during an extravagant betting spree, which was leaked by the betting company in question. For that reason, Kieran Foran sues TAB for breach of privacy and the rugby player is seeking compensation of $150,000
Breach of privacy
Daniel McGirr, who oversees Foran’s legal affairs, stated that the betting agency had failed to make a settlement offer. McGirr is convinced that TAB is fully responsible for leaking information on Foran’s betting account. The Parramatta Eels
playerfrittered away a whopping $75,000 during a 120-minute gambling splurge.
No comment on individual cases
“It goes without saying that privacy and security are among our top priorities. We never make any statement with regard to individual players”, a public relations coordinator for the betting company said. TAB is investigating the leak and reportedly submitted the incident to its legal department.
Struggling with relationship problems
Foran enjoyed the betting spree whilst he was treated for relationship issues at a rehab center, according to New Zealand media. The 25-year-old has two children with Rebecca Pope, but the couple broke up about two months ago. The rugby player made $15,000 bets on multiple sporting events, including horse and greyhound races
. Foran’s gambling session resulted in a $75,000 loss.
