Lackawanna County resident charged in online bookmaking operation
Pennsylvania Police have charged William Schreiber in an illegal sports gambling case. The 32-year-old Lackawanna County resident reportedly acted as a bookmaker for the online sports betting site. Schreiber collected money from indebted punters, according to police sources.

Sports bettors could place bets on sporting events
through the website wager2020.com. The homepage of the illegal site included images of two NFL players. Additionally, visitors could click on a link to the betting guidelines for wagering on multiple sporting events in North-America. The illegal sports betting site was operated from outside of the US.
Informants told police that Schreiber collected money from losing sports bettors. On several occasions, Schreiber met indebted punters at a casino based in Plains, Luzerne County. There were several men who assisted Schreiber. Police sources revealed that sports bettors feared the illegal bookmaker
and his partners as they used intimidation to collect gambling debts.
