Corruption in Swedish second highest football league
11-09-2014

Match-fixing continues to spread like wildfire in football matches all over the world. This time a match between two Swedish teams in the Superettan league
seems to be fixed. The Swedish Football Association has informed the police about the suspected corruption case, and the investigation is ongoing.
Suspected match
A spokesperson for the Svenska Fotbollförbundet (SvFF) , Sweden's football federation, unveiled that the match between Jönköpings Södra IF and Syrianska FC is being investigated. On August 25, the home team booked a convincing 4 – 0 victory over their rivals from Södertälje.
Irregular betting
The Svenska Fotbollförbundet launched an investigation after ‘suspicious betting patterns’, reported by both the UEFA and Svenska Spel. However, Sweden's football federation stated it had no signs of
corruption, but they will fully collaborate with authorities.
