Chinese lottery player hits biggest-ever jackpot $89m
The Chinese lottery agency has announced that one fortunate player has landed a jackpot worth $89 million. It is China's largest lottery jackpot. The lucky player purchased 110 tickets at a lottery outlet based in the Sanlitun area of the Chaoyang District.
New record jackpot
The China Welfare Lottery revealed that the winner played the 'Dual-Colored Ball' game. The jackpot was drawn on June 12 and the winner has 60 days to come forward. This latest jackpot beats the lottery prize
worth $88.9 million, which was won in July last year. That fortunate winner from the Zhejiang region also played the 'Dual-Colored Ball' game.
Two state lotteries
Chinese punters can join two state lotteries, including the China Welfare Lottery. Openlot is the organization behind the China Welfare Lottery, which started in June 1987. Chinese residents can also play the Mark six Chinese lottery. The China Welfare Lottery challenges players to select 6 red balls ranging from 1 to 33, in addition to one blue ball from 1 to 16.
