Canadian lotto player cashes $11 million

A Canadian punter has become significantly richer thanks to a winning Lotto 6/49 ticket. The lucky player in question scooped a $11,031,692.30 jackpot, read a statement from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). The Lotto 6/49 draw didn’t result in other lucky competitors.

Lotto ballsThe OLG also confirmed that a Brampton-based retailer sold a ticket for the Guaranteed Prize Draw that rewarded him or her with $1,000,000 in winnings. Additionally, a Brockville store sold an Encore ticket worth a whopping $100,000. There was also a second prize pool that resulted in three winners who each took home $71,892 in cash courtesy. A Quebec-based retailer sold the fortunate ticket for the top prize.

$5 million jackpot

Canadian lottery players can choose between two national games, including the Lotto 6/49. Tickets for the popular lotto game are available since 1982. Lotto 6/49 draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday with competitors selecting their own  numbers. The top prize for the next draw is approximately $5 million.
