Lexington resident arrested for suspected illegal gambling
A business based in West Columbia has been raided by Lexington County Sheriff's Department deputies on gambling suspicions. The owner of the building, 38-year-old Brinton Lee Motley, was arrested in connection with the illegal slot machines, which were found inside the business.
Illicit gambling machines destroyed
Lexington County Sheriff's Department deputies inspected the premises after receiving information about the illegal gambling operation
. A South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) official assisted to determine the illicitly of the video gaming machines. In the meantime, all gambling devices have been destroyed.
Motley was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center, according to a news release by the Lexington County Sheriff's Department. The raid took place around 6:20 PM and both the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and Lexington County Sheriff’s Department participated in the operation. All 53 gambling machines
were found in two rooms inside the commercial building.
