Walker County authorities shut down trailer-based casino
Gamblers based in Walker County (Alabama) have one gambling parlor less to choose from after a police raid. Agents shut down an illegal gambling joint that was located inside a caravan in the small town of Nauvoo. Players could enjoy 20 Vegas style slot machines
, local media report.
The black-market gambling den was based in a trailer, which also served as a residence. In addition to the gambling machines, agents recovered an undisclosed amount of cash. Police are legally obligated to allocate seized money to the general fund as long as the investigation is ongoing. Nobody has been arrested during the illegal gambling raid
, but police expect arrests to be made any time soon.
There’s no state run lottery in Alabama, while there are three tribal casinos, including:
- Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Atmore
- Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Wetumpka
- Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery
Strangely enough, those casinos don’t offer table games, while the slots
use a server which the machines are all linked to. Vegas style slots, which come with random number generators, are not allowed. Those restrictions have inspired a flourishing underground gambling scene
