New Jersey casino cheater seems to be a backslider
They say good things always come in threes, but that doesn’t apply for convictions. A New Jersey had already been sentenced twice for cheating at casinos in Atlantic City. Derek Bethea now faces a third conviction
after he committed fraud at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa.
The 57-year-old Bayonne resident left prison only a few weeks earlier when he decided to try his luck again at a gambling venue. He visited the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa where he starting playing craps
. Bethea placed a $1,100 bet after the croupier had announced the winning number.
Notorious casino cheater
Police arrested the 57-year-old cheater at the Tropicana Casino and Resort after he had claimed his winnings at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa
. Bethea also committed fraud at other gambling parlors, including the Revel Casino Hotel and Resorts Casino Hotel.
Five years in prison
Bethea has been found guilty of gambling fraud
, and the sentencing date has been set for June 6, read a statement from the state attorney general's office. The 57-year-old backslider faces a jail term of up to five years.
