Fugitive detained after credit card swindle at gambling parlor
It’s not very smart to commit fraud when the police are looking for you. Felix Alberto Colon had been on the run from police for almost a year, but that didn’t stop him from using fraudulent credit cards
at Harrah’s Casino. Police arrested the 31-year-old man who also couldn’t provide a valid driver’s license.
Fraudulent credit cards
The 31-year-old Hazleton resident first withdrew $3,000 in cash at the New Orleans-based gambling venue. Less than two hours after the first withdrawal, Colon withdrew another $2,000 at Harrah’s Casino. On both occasions, he used credit cards with his name on it. However, both credit cards belonged to other account holders
as Colon had tampered the magnetic strips.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the 31-year-old man faces multiple charges, including theft
, credit card fraud, driving without a valid license, identity fraud, possession of fake id-cards. Colon has been transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
